Company Picnics

Children’s Entertainer for Company Picnics

Company outings are perhaps one of the most fun events one can join and experience while at the workforce. They are also one of the best things a company can offer as a gift for their employees. However, there are plenty of things to consider when planning such an event — the place, the food, and a children’s entertainer for your company picnic included.

Benefits of Company Picnics

There are two big reasons why company picnics are a must as far as non-work events go for an organization:

  • Appreciation — Company picnics and other similar events are created as a means for the organization to show its appreciation for the hard work and great results their employees bring. After all, a company is not just about who makes the plans and gives the orders but also those who contribute to realize those plans.
  • Team Building — Company picnics allow the staff and other members of the organization to know each other outside of the work environment and have a good time. Such an activity helps in building and strengthening rapport among everyone, enhancing workplace interaction and potentially boosting productivity in the long run.

How to Plan Great Company Picnics

Although company outings might seem simple, planning for it ahead of time is still essential, as there are many elements to it that need to be considered. Planning your company picnic gives you and your employees an idea of what to expect. It also helps the organizers to set the company’s budget. Here are the steps to take when planning a company picnic:

1. Decide your budget. This will depend upon three key factors: the estimated attendance, the venue, and the food & drink costs.

2. Consider hiring a catering company. Oftentimes, you can get recommendations from other companies or your employees. Planning the menu is one of the things to prioritize. Barbecues are common at company picnics. You can opt for a healthy, affordable and delicious selection. Also remember to include non-meat dishes for your vegetarian and vegan colleagues.

3. Select the date and location. Most often, company picnics happen on a day sometime during the summer months. You can choose to hold your picnic in a public park or at the company location, if you have an outdoor area. Make sure to have a backup plan in case it rains on your picnic day.

4. Plan activities. Food is good, but activities and entertainment are what actually fire up the employees during company picnics. Consider including sports, party games, and other exciting activities on your roster.

5. Hire a Children’s Entertainer. Company picnics almost always include the employees’ families; for many, that means bringing the kids along. While children are certainly bundles of joy, they can also at times be out of control, prompting the adults to continuously stick with them, which minimizes their interaction with others. This is where a children’s entertainer comes in. A party entertainer for the kids is responsible for the following:

  • Keeping the kids occupied – with cool and fun games they all love. These activities will ensure that the kids are highly engaged and will have a great time.
  • Letting the adults relax and enjoy — When the youngsters are able to have fun without needing any form of close monitoring, the adults can relax, socialize, and have a great time on their own.
  • Offering fun activities for all — Many think that children’s entertainers are only out to give laughter to kids, but that is a misconception. As a professional and experienced party entertainer, I can attest that some of our games are also meant for adults to enjoy. In fact, activities I offer, like glitter tattoos and musical games, are always a hit for everyone.

6. Send invitations. Once everything is planned, send invitations – either on print or email – to your employees. Include specifics: time, date, location, list of activities, and what time the kids’ entertainer is coming, among others.

Company picnics are great events for spurring camaraderie and passion for a productive work environment. Make it memorable for everyone by carefully planning it and hiring a party entertainer for your company picnic to keep everyone smiling and happy.
